Friends of the Athletes sponsor POLAR PLUNGE for Special Olympics

RHS Friends of the Athletes were currently awarded a PROJECT UNIFY grant from the Department of Education and Special Olympics of North Carolina. Students hope to use this grant to support their Special Olympic peers by hosting a variety of disability awareness activities and a Ban the "R" word campaign.  

Please join our student athletes as they recognize that all students have unique challenges as well as gifts and as they strive to create a learning community that fosters mutual respect and dignity for all.

National Board Certified Teachers and

Candidates Work with NCCAT to Enrich Skills

Through a generous Golden Leaf Foundation grant, Graham County teachers spent January 22 with Mary Kay Cooley and Linda Kinnear of NCCAT to enrich their skills for the National Board Certification/ Recertification process. Graham County has 14 teachers who presently hold National Board Certification and an additional 14 teachers who are candidates for the prestigious certification. Our teachers join several others across the state of North Carolina, as NC hosts the largest number of National Board Certified teachers in the country.
